Here's a Simple Self Test for Oil Purity - Essential oils that feel oily or that are not instantly absorbed may not be a pure oil. Smell the oil, one nostril at a time. If you feel a twinge over the right eye, it is likely there has been a chemical or solvent added. If you feel a twinge over the left eye, it probably wasn't distilled properly.
